Scales: Major

The Major scale is the basis for all other scales.  There are eight notes in a major scale.  The most common major scale is that of C major.  It runs from C to C.  For example:    C-D-E-F-G-A-B-C.  Other examples include D major, and F# major.  There can be a major scale for any key.    The notes in a major scale give a bright, happy sound.

Red= Held note
Blue= Start of new octave
1-4 = fret

The scale should be read left to right, and bottom to top
This is the basic outline of the scale.  The fingering can be transposed up the neck on any set of frets.
